Hi and welcome to our site! Meet the family! Dannielle and Shane along with our 4 rambunctious, curious and STEM loving boys! We love engineering evenings and hope they can become a part of your life and family as well!
A Little About Us:
Shane graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He has always had a natural ability and passion for anything technology related. He started and ran his own tech business, sold it and went on to help launch a new start up. He has worked as a software engineer and the director of technology for his company. He loves to invent and create new and innovative technologies. He can always find a solution to any problem.
Dannielle graduated with a degree in elementary education and a degree in special education. She spent years teaching special education and then switched and taught regular education for several more years. Dannielle had the opportunity to write and help develop content and lessons for a homeschool curriculum platform. She loves the process of helping children discover the joy of learning.
Together we started this blog as a way to help other homeschool families and parents connect with their children and learn together.
Where it all Started:
From a young age our boys showed a love for all things STEM related. This made my husband, and fellow STEM nerd, very happy! He started doing Engineering Evenings with our boys as a way to pass on his love and knowledge of engineering and technology. This became wonderful quality time to bond together and share experiences. As time passed we had more friends and family interested in the cool projects that Shane was creating with our boys. We started the blog to share some of the cool creations we have come up with, to encourage a love of STEM within the family and the hope to create simple, easy to follow lessons that would allow the non-tech parents to easily learn and teach alongside their child.
10 Fun Facts About Us!
- We love to travel and have been to 8 different countries together. Hopefully we’ll be able to travel again soon and add more countries to that list!
- We host an EPIC Halloween party every year. Planning is usually going on throughout the year to prepare for it.
- Our family is the most important thing to us. We love spending time together, board games, movie nights or just hanging out together in the back yard.
- If Shane and I could go anywhere in the world… it would be a beach, preferably one with white sand!
- We are crazy Disney fans. We love to go to Disneyland or Disney World as often as we can.
- Ice cream is soul food and can fix any problem.
- Dannielle has a secret obsession with all things real estate related.
- Shane has a not so secret obsession with all things sugar related.
- Our boys speak Chinese fluently.
- We love people. We love to learn more about different people, cultures and how people live.
